Which method can be used for payment of the rent?

For the maximum convenience and smoothness of the process, rentals can be paid in different ways. You can also choose a different payment method for each payment of the rent! So you are not bound by the type of payment method you chose while paying the first rent.

Express payment

The most common and fastest way to pay the rent and ensure for example the successful finishing of the contractual process (in case of first rent) is express payment. You can currently pay at Flatio with the following express methods: by credit/debit card, by Apple Pay or Google Pay, and by Bitcoin.

Credit/debit card

The most used type of express payment is undoubtedly payment by credit or debit payment card. The payment gateway we use at Flatio supports MasterCard, VISA and Maestro payment cards.

ATTENTION: We do not store data from payment cards, so you have to enter card details for each additional payment of the rent via card manually in the My Housing application.

Apple Pay/Google Pay

You can also pay at Flatio with Apple Pay or Google Pay. You will especially welcome these payment methods if you are already actively using them, for example, for contactless payment in stores - both services allow you to store all your payment cards in them and make a purchase with a few clicks without having to fill in payment details. We also recommend these payment methods when you're unable to make a payment with your credit/debit card.

NOTE: Apple Pay is only supported by Apple company in the Safari web browser. If you want to pay the rent in this way, you need to open My Housing in this internet browser (whether on a mobile phone or computer).

Do you have free Bitcoins? Then you will be pleased with the fact that on Flatio you can pay the rent also with this cryptocurrency, just follow the instructions in My Housing app!

NOTE: The maximum payment limit for this cryptocurrency is € 1 000, so if you need to pay a higher amount of money than this limit, please contact our customer support via e-mail ([email protected]) - they will help you to resolve this issue.

My payment was declined/canceled

If your payment is declined or canceled during the payment process, please review the following:

  • sufficient cash balance on your account,
  • the daily payment limit,
  • the payment limit for online payments.

These are the most common reasons for declined payments and you need to contact your bank - they will help you resolve the situation (even if your payment was blocked due to your bank's internal processes, i.e. because of a higher amount of payment or recipient in another country/on another continent).

Also, make sure that you have authorized the payment as part of 3D Secure payment security, either in the form of a correctly entered SMS code or by confirming the payment in your bank's mobile application/internet banking.

I can't open the payment gateway

If you're unable to open a payment gateway at all when trying to pay with an express card, there may also be a problem with your browser - we know from experience that payments made in the Chrome web browser are most successful.

However, if you use the Safari web browser, using Apple Pay may also be a solution.

Bank transfer

You can also use a bank transfer to pay the rent. However, we do not recommend it in the case of the first rent payment, as the finishing of the contractual process is delayed (payment usually takes 2-3 working days) and increases the risk of cancellation of the reservation by the landlord himself. When paying other rents, it is necessary to keep the due dates in mind and send the money well in advance.

When filling out a bank payment order, pay extra attention, especially when entering the beneficiary's account number together with the bank code, variable symbol/message for the beneficiary (these are used for correct matching of the received payment with due rent), and last but not least the amount of rent (or other information).
