I had a wonderful one-month stay at this apartment at Váci utca 42. I had originally booked just one room, but because the accommodation mainly caters to exchange students and the other rooms were vacant during the summer, I ended up having the whole apartment to myself, which was a lovely bonus.

The host was very kind, responsive, and cooperative throughout my stay. A cleaning service also came approximately every ten days, so the apartment was kept clean and comfortable.

Overall, I had a very pleasant experience and would happily recommend this accommodation.

Neighborhood
To my pleasant surprise, I discovered that Váci utca is one of the most popular and lively areas in Budapest, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and public transport options just a short walk away.

Despite its central and tourist-friendly location, the apartment was very quiet because it is situated at the back of the building, away from the main street. This was perfect: as soon as I stepped outside, I could enjoy the lively atmosphere and have everything nearby, while still being able to return to a peaceful apartment.

Ideal for students and young professionals, particularly those who are price conscious. Great location

Neighborhood
Busy public transport hub with stores and restaurants nearby

The Opera and the Danube are both excellent. River cruises are a nice way to experience the sights

Very cozy stay!

Rating of the flat and room:
- in general fine, with some wear-and-tear from previous tenants. But the pictures of the room and flat on the website are old and don't show the current state!
- the worst thing - a bar with very noisy clients just next door! Difficult to sleep in summer months, when they are active
- the best thing: the agency targets exchange students, that are absent in summer. I rented one room, but ended up being alone in the flat for a month, which was nice.
- lack of airconditioner, difficult to sleep in summer
- there were ants in the kitchen. This was due to the previous tenants and it didn't bother me much. But the previous tenants told me the agency hasn't taken care of this
- the agency calls a cleaning service before a new person moves in, so when I moved it was all clean and tidy. This was nice

Rating of the agency:
- they changed the responsible agent, but the previous one (Berton) appeared to intentionally misslead me. He responded quickly, but did strange things: 1) After I reserved the flat my reservation got cancelled, because "the website made a mistake", in to his words. Then the price increased and I reserved it again, nontheless. I met the old tenants and figured out, that conveniently enough the agency hiked the price just after they left. 2) I asked if I could extend the stay and the answer was "Of course, just reserve quickly on the website, because there is another person who also reserved the room for the same time" - How is this possible? Are they accepting double reservations? And they will scr** over the other person to give me the room? I don't think so. I think this was just a reply to make me impulsively book the flat.
- in general the agent was easy going and responsive. I just chatted with him, never met him in person

I would use the same agency again, because it's hard to find good and affordable places in Budapest

Neighborhood
AWFULLY NOISY, SLEEP NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE during summer months, because of the bar clients (Hoff House) next door. Not the fault of the agency, of course. But I hope the agency contacts the bar and takes some measures with some association of residents or something. Else, it's really nice neighborhood.
