Stumbled across Flatio while opening 300 tabs researching a trip to Madeira. Was a little hesitant, as it seemed for longer leases and ours was more of a vacation trip, but it made the paperwork/communication/signing up and paying so effortless. We just finished our stay in Madeira last week, and I would honestly say it was as easy to use Flatio as any other booking site. And the prices were the best I found too-- for not just a hotel room, but an entire apartment.

The initial discount code was a very nice touch, and I loved the selection of flats in a location that was hard to find accommodation for 5 in.

Flatio has lot's of good places to stay, some of which you can't find on Airbnb. The rent contracts are easily electronically signed via SMS and are easy to understand. You can talk to the owner before comitting to anything. The payment schedule is clear. UI is nice too, easy to find and compare different places. Support is nice and respond within 24 hours or so. It's great for simple issues if you would have any. The support workflow is not so great for three-side-conversations (tenant-support-owner) but manageable.

Overall really satisfied with the experience and the platform. The check in process could be better and having communication both on email, text and platform was a little confusing. Would be fine if all communication was the same but it seems like we got different information on different platforms which probably could be streamlined a bit :)

What I need is a possibility to block dates for check ins. As I am not available on some days to do a check in. But I don't want to block all this days, because a stay would not be a problem, just not beginning on this day. Right now I have to refuse those requests.
