Flatio fees are way too expensive for what is provided. It seemed like they used to be much more resonable. I do appreciate the idea of longer term arrangements and am always looking for alternatives to AirBNB. I was surprised by the last minute notion that I was responsible for deep cleaning of the apartment at handover, which is not how things typically work in places I've been over the years. Landlords should be responsible for deep cleaning between tenants.

It still seems to be a little unclear during the reservation process of what the obligations/process is. That makes me uncomfortable. I also think that search process could be greatly improved. i.e. global search capacity across the different countries rather than having to go into each individual city/province. So, it is an iterative process and this is a nice first attempt but it needs more refinement to truly service the needs of prospective clients. I think that you could do a lot more testing with "power users" to determine what that should look like. Congrats on a good start though. Paul :)

It was good to inform us about upcoming duties. But you should better communicate this with the landlord since they were not coinciding with the landlord's wishes. That causes a lot of confusion. The landlord was much better organised than you assumed. I was (and am usually) very annoyed by these platforms trying to prevent direct communication between tenant and landlord. It indicates that the platform is less interested in providing good service than with earning money. The contract had to be changed in order to comply with changed arrival dates. Ultimately, I had to solve this directly with the landlord. That was a matter of seconds. But this does not shine a good light on the platform. In general, I do not see the need for such platforms. For getting more customers, more well known platforms like bookings might be much more useful.

The service fee that Flatio charges is really off-putting, as it scales with the price of the apartment being rented and doesn't represent any additional value being provided by Flatio. The services that are supposed to be offered as a result of this fee are rarely available. Additionally, there are no reviews available from other travelers.
