DESCRIPTION
A place to live at your own rhythm, between the Apuan Alps and the Tuscan sea.
This independent 60 sqm wooden house is set within our large green property in the hills of Montemagno di Camaiore, surrounded by nature, silence and open views towards the coast.
It is a place for people looking for something different from a city apartment: a comfortable private home where you can work remotely, study, create, rest or simply experience everyday life in Tuscany for a few weeks or several months.
THE HOUSE
The wooden house is completely independent and has everything you need for everyday living.
The interior is a spacious 60 sqm open-plan area with a double bed and a double sofa bed. The sleeping area can be visually separated from the living space with a curtain whenever more privacy is desired.
There is a fully equipped private kitchen, a private bathroom and a comfortable living area. The house can accommodate up to four guests, although it is particularly spacious and comfortable for one person or a couple staying for a longer period.
Wi-Fi is available, and bed linen and towels are provided. The house has air conditioning and heating, including a wood-burning stove for colder days.
Private outdoor parking is available on the property.
Open the door in the morning and you are immediately surrounded by greenery. You can have breakfast outside, work quietly during the day, read in the garden or simply enjoy having space around you.
SPACE, SILENCE AND PRIVACY
One of the things we value most about this place is the sense of space.
We live in the main house, while the property also includes the wooden house, a glass house and a small tree house. The different accommodations are positioned separately within the property and surrounded by greenery, so each retains its own character and privacy.
There are very few neighbouring houses in the immediate surroundings, and outside the summer season the area is particularly peaceful.
Although we live on the same property and are available if you need us, you are not staying “with us”. The wooden house is your own home during your stay, and your privacy is fully respected.
There is no expectation to socialise, participate in activities or become involved in our everyday life.
You can close your door, work, cook, read, explore Tuscany and spend your time entirely on your own if that is what you are looking for.
Or, if you are curious, there is another side of the place to discover.
ART, NATURE AND CREATIVITY
We are a couple who have gradually created this place around our own lives, interests and work.
I am a sculptor and my marble and ceramic sculpture studio is here on the property. My wife works with medicinal plants, meditation and personal exploration.
Around the houses grow aromatic and medicinal plants, flowers, fruit trees and a small vegetable garden. The land changes throughout the year and, depending on the season, offers herbs, fruit and vegetables that are part of our everyday life.
Art, books and music are also naturally present here. There is a piano and a selection of musical instruments that guests can use with care and upon request.
If you are interested in sculpture, you are welcome to discover the studio and, when possible and arranged with us, even try working with stone yourself. You do not need any previous experience.
These are not organised activities that come with your stay and there is absolutely no expectation that you take part in them. They are simply possibilities that exist around you.
Some people may enjoy discovering the plants, playing music, visiting the sculpture studio or sharing a conversation with us. Others may prefer to spend an entire month quietly working and enjoying their own space.
Both are equally welcome.
THE GARDEN AND SWIMMING POOL
The property is surrounded by garden, trees and natural outdoor spaces that guests can enjoy throughout the year.
During the warmer months, life naturally moves outside. You can work or read outdoors, have a meal in the garden or simply enjoy the landscape.
The swimming pool, situated at the heart of the property, is seasonal and available during its opening period. When it is open, guests can enjoy the pool as part of their stay.
During winter the pool is closed, but the garden, countryside and outdoor spaces remain available.
BETWEEN THE MOUNTAINS AND THE SEA
Montemagno di Camaiore is in a special position between the Apuan Alps, the Tuscan countryside and the Versilia coast.
Behind the property rise the Apuan Alps, with extraordinary landscapes, mountain villages and beautiful hiking and trekking routes.
In front of us, the landscape opens towards the coast and Lake Massaciuccoli, also known as Lake Puccini, and on clear days you can see the island of Gorgona on the horizon. A sea breeze often reaches the hill, particularly during the warmer months.
Camaiore is the nearest town for everyday services.
Pietrasanta, famous internationally for sculpture, marble and contemporary art, is within easy reach, as are Viareggio and the beaches of the Versilia coast.
Lucca, with its historic centre and Renaissance walls, is an easy destination for a day out, while further north the marble landscape of Carrara and the Apuan quarries offers one of the most distinctive experiences of this part of Tuscany.
The location allows you to spend one day by the sea, another walking in the mountains, another discovering Tuscan towns – and then return home to silence and nature.
GETTING AROUND
Public transport connections are available in the area, but we prefer to be completely transparent: having a car is strongly recommended.
This is a countryside home rather than an urban apartment. A car gives you much greater freedom for shopping, reaching the coast and surrounding towns, exploring the mountains and making the most of this part of Tuscany.
Private outdoor parking is available directly on the property.
MAKE THE PLACE YOUR OWN
Over the years we have welcomed students, artists, friends and people from different countries and backgrounds. Some came here to create, some to study or work, and others simply needed somewhere beautiful and peaceful to live for a while.
You don't need to be an artist. You don't need to meditate. You don't need to know anything about medicinal plants, play an instrument or be interested in sculpture.
You can do all of those things – or none of them.
You can swim when the pool is open, play the piano, discover the garden, try sculpture, walk in the mountains, go to the sea and meet us when you feel like it.
Or you can close the door of your wooden house, make yourself a coffee, work for the day, cook dinner and enjoy being completely on your own in the Tuscan hills.
For us, both ways of living here are perfect.
We don't want to offer a hotel or a conventional tourist experience. We simply want to share a place we love – a home between art, nature, the mountains and the sea, where you have the freedom to make your time your own.

Dieses freistehende, 60 m² große Holzhaus liegt auf unserem weitläufigen, grünen Grundstück in den Hügeln von Montemagno di Camaiore, umgeben von Natur, Stille und einem weiten Blick auf die Küste.
Es ist ein Ort für Menschen, die etwas anderes suchen als eine Stadtwohnung: ein komfortables, privates Zuhause, in dem Sie im Homeoffice arbeiten, lernen, kreativ sein, sich ausruhen oder einfach nur für ein paar Wochen oder mehrere Monate den Alltag in der Toskana genießen können.
DAS HAUS
Das Holzhaus ist komplett eigenständig und verfügt über alles, was Sie für den Alltag benötigen.
Der Innenbereich besteht aus einem geräumigen, 60 m² großen offenen Raum mit einem Doppelbett und einem Doppelschlafsofa. Der Schlafbereich lässt sich bei Bedarf mit einem Vorhang optisch vom Wohnbereich trennen, um mehr Privatsphäre zu schaffen.
Es gibt eine voll ausgestattete eigene Küche, ein eigenes Badezimmer und einen gemütlichen Wohnbereich. Das Haus bietet Platz für bis zu vier Gäste, ist jedoch besonders geräumig und komfortabel für eine Person oder ein Paar, das sich für einen längeren Zeitraum hier aufhält.
WLAN ist verfügbar, und Bettwäsche sowie Handtücher werden bereitgestellt. Das Haus verfügt über eine Klimaanlage und eine Heizung, einschließlich eines Holzofens für kühlere Tage.
Auf dem Grundstück steht ein privater Parkplatz im Freien zur Verfügung.

Wir wohnen im Haupthaus, während zum Anwesen außerdem das Holzhaus, ein Glashaus und ein kleines Baumhaus gehören. Die verschiedenen Unterkünfte liegen separat auf dem Grundstück und sind von Grün umgeben, sodass jede ihren eigenen Charakter und ihre Privatsphäre bewahrt.
In der unmittelbaren Umgebung gibt es nur sehr wenige Nachbarhäuser, und außerhalb der Sommersaison ist die Gegend besonders ruhig.
Obwohl wir auf demselben Grundstück wohnen und für Sie da sind, wenn Sie uns brauchen, wohnen Sie nicht „bei uns“. Das Holzhaus ist während Ihres Aufenthalts Ihr eigenes Zuhause, und Ihre Privatsphäre wird voll und ganz respektiert.
Es besteht keinerlei Erwartung, dass Sie Kontakte knüpfen, an Aktivitäten teilnehmen oder in unseren Alltag eingebunden werden.
Sie können Ihre Tür schließen, arbeiten, kochen, lesen, die Toskana erkunden und Ihre Zeit ganz für sich allein verbringen, wenn es das ist, wonach Sie suchen.

KUNST, NATUR UND KREATIVITÄT
Wir sind ein Paar, das diesen Ort nach und nach rund um unser eigenes Leben, unsere Interessen und unsere Arbeit gestaltet hat.
Ich bin Bildhauer und mein Atelier für Marmor- und Keramikskulpturen befindet sich hier auf dem Grundstück. Meine Frau beschäftigt sich mit Heilpflanzen, Meditation und persönlicher Selbstfindung.
Rund um die Häuser wachsen Duft- und Heilpflanzen, Blumen, Obstbäume und ein kleiner Gemüsegarten. Das Gelände verändert sich im Laufe des Jahres und bietet je nach Jahreszeit Kräuter, Obst und Gemüse, die Teil unseres Alltags sind.
Auch Kunst, Bücher und Musik sind hier ganz selbstverständlich präsent. Es gibt ein Klavier und eine Auswahl an Musikinstrumenten, die Gäste auf Anfrage und bei schonender Behandlung nutzen können.
Wenn Sie sich für Bildhauerei interessieren, können Sie gerne das Atelier erkunden und – sofern möglich und nach Absprache mit uns – sogar selbst versuchen, mit Stein zu arbeiten. Sie benötigen dafür keinerlei Vorkenntnisse.
Es handelt sich hierbei nicht um organisierte Aktivitäten, die zu Ihrem Aufenthalt gehören, und es wird absolut nicht erwartet, dass Sie daran teilnehmen. Es sind einfach Möglichkeiten, die sich Ihnen bieten.
Manche Menschen genießen es vielleicht, die Pflanzen zu entdecken, Musik zu machen, das Bildhaueratelier zu besuchen oder sich mit uns zu unterhalten. Andere ziehen es vielleicht vor, einen ganzen Monat lang in Ruhe zu arbeiten und ihren eigenen Raum zu genießen.
Beides ist gleichermaßen willkommen.
DER GARTEN UND DER POOL
Das Anwesen ist von einem Garten, Bäumen und natürlichen Außenbereichen umgeben, die Gäste das ganze Jahr über genießen können.
In den wärmeren Monaten verlagert sich das Leben ganz natürlich nach draußen. Sie können im Freien arbeiten oder lesen, im Garten essen oder einfach die Landschaft genießen.
Der Swimmingpool, der sich im Herzen des Anwesens befindet, ist saisonal in Betrieb und während der Öffnungszeit zur Verfügung steht. Wenn er geöffnet ist, können die Gäste den Pool als Teil ihres Aufenthalts genießen.
Im Winter ist der Pool geschlossen, aber der Garten, die Landschaft und die Außenbereiche stehen weiterhin zur Verfügung.
ZWISCHEN DEN BERGEN UND DEM MEER
Montemagno di Camaiore befindet sich in einer besonderen Lage zwischen den Apuanischen Alpen, der toskanischen Landschaft und der Küste der Versilia.
Hinter dem Anwesen erheben sich die Apuanischen Alpen mit außergewöhnlichen Landschaften, Bergdörfern und wunderschönen Wander- und Trekkingrouten.
Vor uns öffnet sich die Landschaft in Richtung Küste und zum Massaciuccoli-See, auch bekannt als Puccini-See, und an klaren Tagen kann man die Insel Gorgona am Horizont sehen. Eine Meeresbrise weht oft bis zum Hügel herauf, besonders in den wärmeren Monaten.
Camaiore ist die nächstgelegene Stadt für alltägliche Besorgungen.
Pietrasanta, international bekannt für Bildhauerei, Marmor und zeitgenössische Kunst, ist ebenso leicht zu erreichen wie Viareggio und die Strände der Versilia-Küste.
Lucca mit seiner Altstadt und den Stadtmauern aus der Renaissance eignet sich ideal für einen Tagesausflug, während weiter nördlich die Marmorlandschaft von Carrara und die Steinbrüche der Apuanischen Alpen eines der einzigartigsten Erlebnisse dieser Region der Toskana bieten.
Die Lage ermöglicht es Ihnen, einen Tag am Meer zu verbringen, einen anderen mit Wanderungen in den Bergen und wieder einen anderen mit der Erkundung toskanischer Städte – um dann nach Hause in die Stille und die Natur zurückzukehren.
FORTBEWEGUNG
Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel sind in der Gegend verfügbar, aber wir möchten ganz offen sein: Ein Auto wird dringend empfohlen.
Es handelt sich hier eher um ein Haus auf dem Land als um eine Stadtwohnung. Ein Auto bietet Ihnen viel mehr Freiheit beim Einkaufen, beim Erreichen der Küste und der umliegenden Städte, beim Erkunden der Berge und dabei, diesen Teil der Toskana in vollen Zügen zu genießen.
Ein privater Parkplatz im Freien steht direkt auf dem Grundstück zur Verfügung.
MACHEN SIE SICH DIESEN ORT ZU EIGEN
Im Laufe der Jahre haben wir Studenten, Künstler, Freunde und Menschen aus verschiedenen Ländern und mit unterschiedlichem Hintergrund bei uns willkommen geheißen. Einige kamen hierher, um kreativ zu sein, andere, um zu studieren oder zu arbeiten, und wieder andere brauchten einfach nur einen schönen und ruhigen Ort, an dem sie eine Weile leben konnten.
Sie müssen kein Künstler sein. Sie müssen nicht meditieren. Sie müssen nichts über Heilpflanzen wissen, kein Instrument spielen oder sich für Bildhauerei interessieren.
Sie können all diese Dinge tun – oder auch gar nichts davon.
Du kannst schwimmen, wenn der Pool geöffnet ist, Klavier spielen, den Garten erkunden, dich in der Bildhauerei versuchen, in den Bergen wandern, ans Meer fahren und uns besuchen, wann immer dir danach ist.
Oder du kannst die Tür deines Holzhauses schließen, dir einen Kaffee machen, den Tag mit Arbeit verbringen, das Abendessen kochen und es genießen, ganz für dich allein in den toskanischen Hügeln zu sein.
Für uns sind beide Arten, hier zu leben, perfekt.
Wir möchten kein Hotel und kein herkömmliches touristisches Erlebnis anbieten. Wir möchten einfach nur einen Ort teilen, den wir lieben – ein Zuhause zwischen Kunst, Natur, den Bergen und dem Meer, an dem Sie die Freiheit haben, Ihre Zeit ganz nach Ihren Vorstellungen zu gestalten.

A few practical things to know before your stay:
We have cats living on the property, and you may see them around the garden and outdoor areas. They do not need to enter your accommodation, but guests with severe cat allergies should be aware of their presence.
Pets are welcome upon prior agreement, particularly because our cats live freely on the property.
The swimming pool is seasonal and available only during its opening period.
Private outdoor parking on the property is free and does not require a reservation.
Smoking is not permitted inside the house, but guests may smoke outdoors.
Although the property is surrounded by nature, it is not completely isolated. A small grocery shop, local bars and restaurants can be reached on foot. A pharmacy and post office are approximately 3 km away and easily reached by car.
Versilia Hospital is approximately 20–25 minutes away by car.
Public transport is available within walking distance, although we strongly recommend having a car for everyday independence and for exploring the coast, mountains and surrounding towns.
We live on the same property and are available whenever practical help is needed, while fully respecting our guests' privacy and independence.

Das Krankenhaus Versilia ist mit dem Auto in etwa 20–25 Minuten zu erreichen.
Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel sind zu Fuß erreichbar, allerdings empfehlen wir dringend, ein Auto zu nutzen, um im Alltag unabhängig zu sein und die Küste, die Berge sowie die umliegenden Orte zu erkunden.

We like conversations, exchanging ideas and sharing something of our world when it happens spontaneously. But we also deeply respect the pleasure of being left alone. As hosts, we try to be available without being intrusive. We live on the property, so if you need practical help, advice about the area or simply feel like having a coffee and talking, we are nearby. At the same time, your accommodation is your own space and your privacy and independence are fully respected.
