Nestled in the iconic La Latina neighbourhood, this 130m2 home seamlessly blends history with modern luxury. The building was constructed in 1849 on the site of Madrid's ancient 11th century Christian wall. Meticulously renovated by a renowned architect, the apartment retains its old charm, with old woodwork restored or, in the case of the balconies, replicas of the originals, but with modern glazing to optimise insulation and comfort. The wide plank solid oak floors, high ceilings, hydraulic tiles, rounded corners and combination of soft and light colours create a unique atmosphere.

At the front of the house there is a spacious entrance hall with guest cloakroom and a centenary beam archway leading to a 35m2 living room with three south-facing external balconies. A double door connects to a library with a further balcony and two height-adjustable desks. Adjacent to the library, separated by an arched door with an acoustic curtain, is the master bedroom with en-suite complete bathroom.

The kitchen-dining room offers a second living space, with rustic and warm details that provide a sense of refuge and tranquillity, especially at night. From the kitchen there is an independent sleeping area with a second and third bedroom and a full bathroom. The apartment has everything you need to live and work: high speed fibre Wi-Fi, washing machine, dryer, cleaning robot, 55" TV, smart speaker, all kinds of kitchen utensils and smart lock.

The apartment is different from what you would find elsewhere in the city, as it has not been designed, renovated and furnished for the short-term tourist or for profit, but for our own private enjoyment. Moreover, unlike other places, this apartment is explicitly designed for long-term visitors. In particular, the layout of the rooms is perfect for teleworkers and/or families with children. There is a dedicated room for working. The bedrooms are at the back to ensure peace and quiet in this busy part of the city. The entrance, the living room and the kitchen areas are spacious and perfect for inviting friends, sharing a meal or just enjoying life. Unlike most of the other apartments on offer, this one is not optimized to accommodate the maximum number of people per unit space, but to provide the best quality experience per person.

Welcome package

Two sets of bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped. Some basic WC and kitchen items such as soap toilet paper, oil, salt, etc will be provided.

We are a Spanish family from northern Spain. While we do not live in Madrid, we feel rather attached to the capital city, as my husband was born there and our son, who now lives in Germany, lived there for many years. Since we love to spend time in Madrid, we decided to buy an apartment there. We were lucky enough to find this beautiful classic flat in our favorite street. We renovated and furnished it for our own private use, with the idea of occasionally teleworking from there or simply to allow us to visit and spend some time in our beloved city. While we originally had no intention of renting, while doing the renovation works we figured it would be a good idea to offer it for teleworkers and digital nomads.

Very nice spacious apartment in Madrid old city centre. Close to all amenities, events, parks, walking/bicycling trails. Easy communication with the owner. Very good instructions provided for arrival and departure. While located in main tourist area, the apartment is very quiet at night.
