What should I do before moving in?

You will be informed about the approaching move-in date via email, which will include specific instructions.

We consider the start date of the lease agreement to be the date of the physical handover of the accommodation.

The time of taking over the accommodation from the landlord varies but is always stated in the lease, as well as in the reservation details of your profile. If you need to arrange an earlier or later arrival to the property, please contact your landlord to negotiate an individual agreement.

Therefore, the accommodation can be handed over to you earlier or later, and even on a different day. However, if you move in earlier, the landlord may charge extra rent for the additional day(s). It is always recommended to manage this situation through a lease amendment document. The landlord can create an amendment document via their Flatio app. You will only need to sign it using the authorization code, similar to signing the lease agreement.

Agreement on the details

It’s appropriate to contact the landlord about the handover details via Messages section in My Housing app. Only then we are able to provide you with sufficient (legal) support in case of sudden complications. As soon as the contractual process is successfully completed, you can write to your new landlord and immediately arrange the details of the handover with him.

The landlord isn't communicating with me

If for some reason the landlord isn't communicating with you, give them time. Sometimes it happens that the landlord doesn't have an Internet connection and doesn't even know that you're trying to contact them. If their response time takes several hours or even days, try to reach them by phone at their personal number, which you can find in the Dashboard in the My Housing app. And if that doesn't work at all, our Customer Care support will be happy to help you!

Before the handover

Before the handover of the accommodation, you should read the lease agreement and the General Terms and Conditions again carefully and write down the phone number of your landlord (you can easily find it in the Dashboard in the My Housing app -- section Your Landlord).
